We are currently accepting applications for:

Youth Advocate - We are looking for a Part-Time (up to 29hrs/wk) Youth Advocate. In the position you will be responsible for organizing and implementing special activities for children and their non-offending parent(s) residentially and non-residentially which promotes good mental and physical health to youth victims of domestic and sexual violence, dating violence, and stalking in the River House four-county service area (Crawford, Ogemaw, Oscoda, and Roscommon counties).

Attend and facilitate group meetings and presentations in the community with community coordinating councils.

Associate Degree in Child Development or equivalent work experience preferred.   Effective verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational and planning skills. Ability to relate to individuals in crisis.  Must be able to understand and easily relate to people and show empathy to victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, dating violence, and stalking. Proficiency in computers, phones, technology, and database programs.  Use of personal vehicle/reliable transportation is required along with current Michigan driver’s license and valid car insurance. Starting pay is $12.48/hour negotiable dependent upon experience.

Additional Requirements include:  Experience working with children. Experience with public speaking is preferred.

 

Outreach Advocate - The Outreach Advocate is responsible for organizing and implementing special activities for adults residentially and non-residentially which promotes good mental and physical health to adult victims of domestic and sexual violence, dating violence, and stalking in the River House, Inc. four-county service area (Crawford, Ogemaw, Oscoda, and Roscommon).  Use of personal vehicle/reliable transportation is required with paid mileage along with current Michigan driver’s license and valid car insurance.  Attend and facilitate group meetings and presentations in the community.

This job is part-time, up to 28 hrs/wk. Starting pay is $12.48/hr negotiable dependent upon experience.

Associates in a human service field or equivalent experience required. Excellent organizational and planning skills. Ability to relate to individuals in crisis. Must be able to understand and easily relate to people and show empathy for victims of domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking. Use of personal vehicle/reliable transportation is required along with current Michigan driver’s license and car insurance on file. Has a working knowledge of computers.

Additional Requirements include: Equivalent experience considered.
